What is Kanbai?
Kanbai is a project-management application for consultants and small teams — projects, tasks, project templates that auto-instantiate a full task graph with order, assignees and computed dates, standard operating procedures, and task dependencies.
What is a project template?
A template is a project type carrying a predefined ordered task set. Pick one when creating a project and every task gets auto-created with order, assignee, and computed dates.
How does starting from a template create the task set?
Starting from a template creates the full task set together, with dates and dependency links, so a failed creation leaves no partial project.
Are dependency loops refused?
Kanbai checks each dependency as it is saved and rejects any link that would create a cycle, keeping circular chains out of the project.
What is an SOP?
Kanbai's standard operating procedures: how-to instructions linked to individual tasks so whoever picks up a task knows how to do it.
What do the tools do?
Estimate: Three-point (PERT) plus a reference-class bias check against finished comparables. Risk register: Probability × impact, ranked and banded, with a 5×5 matrix and an exportable artifact. Definition gate: Paste a project definition and get a PASS/MISSING verdict per criterion — a gate built to refuse. RACI matrix: Assign R/A/C/I per task × role with real validation: exactly one A, at least one R. Fill in any of the 7 corpus-grounded instruments and download it as Markdown — no account, no project.
Access
What is public, and what needs an account?
Anyone can browse public templates and use seven generators without signing in. Project workspaces are available in the invite-only beta, with tasks, boards, rosters, and documents kept with the project. Templates, SOPs and tools are open to visitors; projects need sign-in to view or edit.
I cannot sign in or reach Kanbai
If you cannot sign in or reach Kanbai, file a ticket with the account email, the URL you opened, and when you last signed in successfully. Support does not auto-grant seats, credits, or access.
Data and privacy
Where is project data stored?
Projects, tasks, SOPs and instruments are Kanbai's own and persist in hosted Postgres.
Does Kanbai use analytics and cookies?
Google Analytics runs only if you accept.
