This page explains the analytics and cookies on kanbai.app.
Analytics and cookies
Kanbai uses Google Analytics to see which pages people read and how they find the site.
Google Analytics runs only if you say yes. The first time you visit, a banner asks whether we can use it. Until you click Accept, the Google Analytics script isn't loaded, no Google Analytics cookies are set, and nothing is sent to Google. If you click Decline, it stays that way.
What Google Analytics collects if you accept
- The pages you view, when you view them, and roughly how long you stay
- How you got here, such as a search engine, a link on another site, or a campaign link
- Your browser, device type, operating system, screen size and language
- Your approximate location (country and city), which Google works out from your IP address. Google Analytics 4 doesn't store IP addresses.
- Basic interactions, such as scrolling to the bottom of a page, clicking a link to another site, or downloading a file
We don't send Google your name, email address, account details or anything you type into a form. We've turned off Google signals and ad personalization, so this data isn't used for advertising or tied to a Google account. We don't run ads, and we don't sell data.
Cookies
If you accept, Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on this site:
| Cookie | What it's for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
_ga | A random ID that tells one visit from another | 2 years |
_ga_VM0WKFDPYV | Keeps track of your current session | 2 years |
Your Accept or Decline choice is saved in your browser's local storage (ga4_consent_v1) so we don't ask again on every page. It isn't a cookie, and it never leaves your browser.
Changing your mind
Click Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to see or change your choice. If you switch from Accept to Decline, Google Analytics stops right away and we delete its _ga cookies from your browser. You can also:
- block or clear cookies in your browser settings
- install Google's opt-out browser add-on, which stops Google Analytics on every site
Who handles it
Google LLC runs Google Analytics for us as a service provider and may process the data in the United States. Google's privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services explain its side.
