Project proposal
A project proposal is a structured business case for funding or approving a project, covering its goal, the problem it solves, the proposed solution, and its cost-benefit tradeoff.
It's typically the first formal document in a project's life — written before a scope statement or statement of work, while the project is still a candidate rather than a commitment. A complete proposal states the goal, the underlying problem, the proposed solution, the criteria by which competing solutions were (or should be) judged, a cost-benefit case, requirements, a rough scope, known risks, and a schedule. Kanbai's version, drawn from the 17-book project-management corpus (The Fast Forward MBA in Project Management), is the largest of Kanbai's seven corpus-grounded instruments at nine sections, reflecting that a proposal has to make a complete case on its own, before a project exists to fall back on. It's fillable per-project or standalone with no account, exporting as Markdown either way — the same generator that powers the standalone form at /tools/project-proposal.
